Green Bay Packers fans have been spoiled and privileged to have two of the greatest quarterbacks of all time going back-to-back for their team.

And even though one could argue that they should definitely have more than two Super Bowls out of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers combined, being contenders for three decades is not for everybody.

That’s why NFL analyst Michael Silver, speaking to Colin Cowherd, doesn’t want the fans to get too excited about Jordan Love and the new era.

Silver explains that, even though Love could still turn out to be a good quarterback, the chances of going from one generational talent to another for the third consecutive time are pretty much slim.

Truth be told, Love hasn’t been impressive at all in limited opportunities for the Packers.

But GM Brian Gutekunst and HC Matt LaFleur have raved about his offseason improvement and believe he’s ready to take the reins of the offense going forward.

Of course, that means nothing unless he actually delivers, and even if he’s good, he might not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer like Favre or Rodgers.

The Packers may not even make the playoffs next season, and it might not have anything to do with whether Love lives up to the expectations or not.

The team will likely go through a long-overdue transition, and that may not lead to a lot of wins.

So, to all those young Packers fans out there who have always watched their team be a postseason contender, you might be in for a tough couple of years ahead of you.
