Cardinals Fans Are Left Infuriated After Latest Loss

What could have been a confidence-building come-from-behind victory over the San Francisco Giants quickly turned sour for the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night.

St. Louis had rallied from a late 2-1 deficit to grab a 4-2 lead thanks to some timely hits from Tyler O’Neill and Paul Goldschmidt.

But when they turned to the normally stout Ryan Helsley in the bottom of the ninth, things began to unravel.

St. Louis lost in walk-off fashion by a final score of 5-4, as Giants catcher Blake Sabol went deep off of Helsley.

The loss dropped the Cardinals to 9-15 on the season, six games below the .500 mark.

On Twitter, one fan expressed his discontent with the current situation and how when the team is clicking in one area, they are struggling in others.

Early on this season, the Cardinals have proven to have a knack for snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

The last time they were six games under .500 was in June of 2017.

That year, the Cardinals ended up finishing 83-79, but fell short of the postseason.

The areas that have been plaguing the team, such as starting pitching and the offense, were non-issues in Tuesday night’s loss.

It was the normally lockdown bullpen that faltered and caused the most painful loss of the season thus far.

Fans are understandably infuriated, and are hoping that something will be done soon to improve the club, either from within the organization or via a trade.

The Cardinals remain seven games back of first place in the NL Central, a division they won with relative ease in 2022.
