It may be early in the season still, but the Minnesota Twins are off to a good start after a late-season collapse took them out of contention in 2022.

Things are looking a lot better for the Twins this time around, as the franchise tries to reach the postseason for the first time since 2020.

As April draws to a close, the Twins currently have some bragging rights over the New York Yankees.

On Tuesday, Minnesota cruised to a 6-2 win over the Yankees at Target Field to improve to 14-10.

The win assured the Twins of at least a series win over the Bronx Bombers.

Also, the victory assured that Minnesota will win the season series against the Yankees, as Wednesday’s contest in Minneapolis will be the final meeting of 2023.

This marked the first time the Twins won the season series against the Yankees since 2001.

On Twitter, the Twins posted a bold message to celebrate this accomplishment.

The Twins have a chance to try for a sweep on Wednesday.

But they certainly were very bold about their recent feat.

Granted, winning a series against a team like the Yankees is no easy task, so the Twins have plenty of reasons to be excited.

It’s also worth noting that the Yankees have been the Twins’ arch nemesis in the postseason for the past two decades.

Since their win in Game 1 of the 2004 ALDS, Minnesota has not won a single playoff game (18 straight defeats), and many of those losses came against the Yankees.

And so, the Twins certainly have to feel good about showing some life against the team that has caused them so much postseason heartache.

It’s still early in the season, but it’s never too early to celebrate a major accomplishment.

The Twins won an important series against the Yankees and remained at the top of the AL Central.
