The New York Yankees made a key decision in spring training to add top shortstop prospect Anthony Volpe to their Opening Day roster.
So far, the young shortstop has been off to a little bit of a rough start, as he is hitting just .228 over his first 79 at-bats.
However, the Yankees top prospect has made some key adjustments and has improved drastically since a poor start.
In his first 12 games, the 21-year-old hit for a .143 average, and did not drive in a run.
He also stole three bases, walked five times, and had a wRC+ of just 40.
Over his last 13 games, Volpe has been much better.
On Twitter, a Yankees fan pointed out just how much Volpe has improved over his last 13 games.

In that stretch, the 21-year-old shortstop prospect is hitting for a .295 average and has driven in seven runs.
He also has a wRC+ of 160, has walked 11 times, and stolen five bases.
One key adjustment Volpe appears to have made since his start is becoming more patient at the plate.
The walks are up from where they were from the first 12 games of the season, and he has been able to get on base more frequently.
Volpe earned the starting shortstop job out of spring training, despite a field of competition that featured players such as Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Oswald Peraza, and Oswaldo Cabrera.
New York is 14-11 to start the 2023 season as they sit in fourth place in the American League East, a division they won last season by seven games.
