The Houston Astros have started to play some better baseball as of late.

The defending World Series champions were off to a bit of a rough start this year, but appear to have kicked it into gear as the month of April nears its end.

The team has won seven of their last 10 games and are just a half-game behind the Texas Rangers in the AL West.

In the midst of their hot stretch, Mauricio Dubon is on an impressive hit streak.

Dubon was acquired from the San Francisco Giants last season and became a key contributor for the Astros.

On Wednesday, the Astros left Tropicana Field having won their series against the Tampa Bay Rays, and Dubon extended his hit streak to 20 games.

Dubon’s big hit came in the top of the fifth inning against Rays left-hander Josh Fleming.

As soon as he got to first base, he exchanged a hug with first base coach Omar Lopez.

The Astros went on to win the game against the Rays by a final score of 1-0 as they snatched a series victory.

But Dubon was one of the key storylines from Wednesday’s win for the defending World Series champions, and he added to his already impressive hit streak by officially extending it to 20 games.

The 28-year-old utility infielder is hitting .330 on the season.

He has yet to hit a home run, but has picked up 29 hits in his first 88 at-bats and has also scored 18 runs.

In addition, he has four RBI and two stolen bases.
