Coming into the 2023 NFL Draft, the consensus was that Peter Skoronski was the best offensive lineman available and someone that would immediately improve the protection for a team’s quarterback.

Ultimately, Skoronski will be protecting Ryan Tannehill next season and potentially Will Levis for most of his career, with the Tennessee Titans selecting the former Northwestern star at No. 11 overall on Thursday.

Although Paris Johnson Jr. went a few picks ahead of him, with the Arizona Cardinals taking him at No. 6 overall, the Titans scored with Skoronski, who had an interesting thing to say during his introductory press conference with the team via Paul Kuharsky.

With the NFL Draft being so important to all 32 teams and being such a big event for the media, players can get over-analyzed and judged for parts of their game or body that, in the end, don’t really matter.

That may be the case for Skoronski, as he is one of the best prospects in this draft class for a reason, and obviously, the Titans liked what they saw in the 21-year-old star in the making.

With the Titans investing in the quarterback position by drafting Levis and still having superstar running back Derrick Henry coming out of the backfield in Tennessee, the team going with Skoronski makes sense, and at this point in time, it seems like a smart move.

At this point, there’s no telling which way the franchise is going, as a rebuild could be on the horizon, but Skoronski is clearly in the team’s long-term plans.
