The Arizona Cardinals were expected to trade DeAndre Hopkins this offseason.

He was rumored for most of the offseason to be available for trade.

Any wide receiver-needy team would be foolish to not make a play for the former All-Pro.

Playing in Arizona no longer seemed like a fit for Hopkins.

He is entering his age-31 season and wants to play for a team that can compete for a championship.

The Cardinals might be one of the worst teams in the NFL next year, especially with Kyler Murray expected to miss the first half of the season.

Despite all the rumors swirling about Hopkins wanting to be traded, he seems content with playing in Arizona.

According to Gregg Rosenthal, Hopkins appears to not want to leave the Cardinals.

If Hopkins was going to be traded, many assumed it would happen over the draft.

Arizona could have moved their star receiver for a bunch of picks and helped speed up their rebuild.

Hopkins is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and someone that should be coveted.

Maybe teams are waiting to see how the offseason unfolds before picking up the phone to call the Cardinals.

The star receiver has only played in 19 games over the past two seasons.

But last year he missed a chunk of games due to a suspension.

This may be Hopkins’ final year as a Cardinal, so they better make the most of it.
