The Buffalo Bills have been identified as one of the winners of the 2023 NFL Draft, mainly due to their first-round selection.
They moved up to select Utah TE Dalton Kincaid, who was widely viewed as the draft’s top tight end prospect.
After this selection, Bills GM Brandon Beane commented on the Bills’ excitement surrounding Kincaid.
“For us, it was worth giving up that pick to ensure we got him,” Beane said on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Kincaid’s final season at the University of Utah resulted in 70 receptions for 890 yards and eight touchdowns.
Teams across the league were exceptionally high on Kincaid, as they believe that he will be able to succeed at the highest level.
Beane and the Bills were convinced that they needed to move up in the draft for him, especially since the Dallas Cowboys were slated to pick before them.
The Cowboys recently lost Dalton Schultz in free agency, which created a void at tight end.
While Kincaid was the lone tight end drafted in the first round, this was seen as a deep class at the position.
Whether Kincaid will emerge as the best tight end of the class remains to be seen.
Being paired with quarterback Josh Allen should help the rookie’s case, given Allen’s propensity to spread the ball around.
Last year, Bills TE Dawson Knox saw 65 targets, which he turned into 48 receptions, 517 yards, and six touchdowns.
Kincaid is a similar build to Knox with a higher-regarded receiving profile.
How will these two tight ends work in tandem with each other, in an offense that also needs to feature receiver Stefon Diggs?
