The 2023 season hasn’t gone the way the Chicago White Sox planned.
With a new manager and renewed hopes, the franchise wanted to improve upon their 81-81 mark from last year.
Well, it’s fair to say things have gone south: as of Tuesday afternoon, they have a 8-21 record and are just one game ahead of the last-place Kansas City Royals in the AL Central.
The front office is desperate.

That’s right, 11.
On the bright side, star shortstop Tim Anderson is now on the roster.
He will rejoin the White Sox for Tuesday’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins.
He missed the last three weeks due to a left knee sprain.
He will return to a .298 batting average and five stolen bases.
The bad news is that the organization is sending down rookie outfielder Oscar Colas.
Colas has been one of the best prospects in the organization in the last couple of years.
However, he looked overmatched in his first month as a major leaguer.
In 25 games and 84 plate appearances, the lefty hit .211/.265/.276 with a home run and a 23.8 percent strikeout rate.
He was brilliant last season, with a .928 OPS in Double-A and a 1.069 mark in a brief Triple-A stop.
He won a spot in spring training, fair and square, but the reality indicates he could use some more time in Triple-A.
After all, his experience at the level is just seven games.
He will be back up eventually, hopefully more prepared to succeed in the long-term.
His talent is not in doubt.
