In light of the St. Louis Cardinals’ 4-7 start, there has been a bright spot.

Rookie sensation Jordan Walker is off to a hot start in his MLB career.

He has now set a club record for the longest hit streak to begin a career.

Walker is also just one back of tying Eddie Murphy‘s record of 12 consecutive games with a hit to begin his career at the age of 20 or younger.

Walker helped the Cardinals pull off a stunning come-from-behind victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night by extending his streak.

After the game, Walker talked about what this process has been like for him and what keeps him motivated.

Walker says that it isn’t too hard for him to stay humble during his historic streak.

Instead, he believes the important thing is for him to stay away from social media as much as possible.

The 20-year-old slugger then made a definitive statement by saying that the less he knows, the better off he is, in terms of what analysts are saying.

Walker says that he doesn’t like to get too wrapped up in outside distractions, once again reiterating that he believes the best approach for him is to use social media as little as possible.

The Rookie of the Year candidate is certainly off to a hot start and has done a pretty good job of tuning out any distractions, which is a good sign for the Cardinals.

And if Walker stays hot, the Cardinals offense will be in good shape.
