The Milwaukee Bucks could have a tough time finding a suitable replacement for Mike Budenholzer.

Fortunately for them, Phoenix Suns GM James Jones and owner Mat Ishbia might have gift-wrapped them with the perfect guy to take the reins of the team.

The Suns shockingly decided to part ways with Monty Williams, and the Bucks are ready to ‘aggressively pursue him,’ according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Williams was the winningest coach in the NBA since 2021, and he was named the league’s Coach of the Year just last season.

The Suns had a thin team after trading away Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges for Kevin Durant.

They lacked another playmaker behind Chris Paul, and it became painfully evident when he fell with an injury.

Williams was responsible for a major turnaround in franchise culture, and while he failed to make adjustments often in the playoffs, he proved to be one of the best tacticians in the league more often than not.

Likewise, Mike Budenholzer had found a lot of success in the regular season and even coached a championship team, yet it somehow felt like he had already maxed out, and the team needed to go in a different direction.

The Bucks will continue to be championship contenders for as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo is in town, especially if they also manage to keep Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez on board for the next couple of years.

As for the Suns, finding a new boss will be easier said than done.
