The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays are officially in a controversy over potential sign-stealing offenses by the former.

On Monday, with the Yankees up 6-0, Aaron Judge hit his second home run of the game, not before glancing at his dugout for a second.

That quick look towards his teammates gave the Jays enough reason to be suspicious.

Were the Yankees stealing signs?

Why was Judge looking at his dugout?

He said after the game that he was hearing some of his teammates chirping at the umpire, and he talked to them after the game not to do that particularly after their manager Aaron Boone was already tossed.

They didn’t believe Judge in Toronto, though.

“The #BlueJays spoke with the league this morning about last night’s game. At this point, Toronto seems to be taking issue with where New York’s bases coaches were positioned, which contradicts Judge’s answer post-game,” Jays insider Keegan Matheson tweeted.

Some people on the Blue Jays believe that the Yankees were somehow stealing signs.

Were they?

It’s possible the hurler was tipping his pitches and there was communication between the Yankees dugout and the hitter, in this case Judge.

However, it’s much more difficult to steal signs when the teams are using PitchCom.

Still, the Jays are determined to speak with the league regarding what happened on Monday.

We will know soon enough it it’s a non-story or if there was foul play by the Yankees.

It’s hard to believe the Yanks doing something like that after how much they criticized the Houston Astros after the 2017 scandal.

Everything is possible, though.
