In the old days, the vast majority of NFL games were broadcast on only two over-the-air networks, with ABC handling Monday Night Football duties.

But in recent years, the league has broadcast games on a growing list of networks, and it has branched out into streaming services over the last few years.

For the upcoming 2023 season, the NFL will have games on a staggering list of outlets, both on television and streaming services.

For many years, viewership habits have changed, and sports leagues have had to evolve with these changes in order to keep up and maintain their revenue streams, not to mention their fans.

A while back, people started using the internet more often than they watched television and years before that, cable started to overtake the “big four” networks: ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX.

Nowadays, many have decided to “cut the cord” and opt for streaming services instead of their old cable or satellite subscription in order to save money and be more selective about what they watch, knowing that they only really consume a handful of the hundreds of channels available.

This upcoming season, the NFL has made a couple of other changes, including allowing teams to play in more than one Thursday night game.

Thursday night games became the domain of streaming services last year, as they were carried on Amazon Prime’s streaming service.

No matter where football fans decide to watch games this fall and winter, they will be treated to a season of new faces in new places and old mainstays looking to compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
