The famous “Hey dad, want to have a catch?” line at the end of “Field of Dreams” is one of the classic baseball movie quotes.

It’s a special moment when Ray Kinsella meets a younger version of his father and they have a catch.

For generations, baseball has brought fathers and sons together.

The same can be said for Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. and his father, Bobby Witt Sr.

On Wednesday, the Royals played their series finale against the Texas Rangers.

Witt, a native of Texas, had his father in attendance at Globe Life Field.

The Royals shortstop hit a foul ball into the stands, which just so happened to be caught by his dad.

Like Ray and John Kinsella, Bobby Jr. and Bobby Sr. had “a catch.”

Obviously, this one was much different, but it was just as special.

Not often are we going to see moments like this, when a player hits a home run and the ball is caught by a parent.

But Witt had a nice moment on Wednesday in Arlington.

Witt’s father pitched from 1986-2001 and spent a good chunk of his time with the Rangers.

He also pitched for the Oakland Athletics, Florida Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Cleveland Indians, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

The right-hander even earned a World Series ring in his final season, when the Diamondbacks won their first and only title.

Witt Jr. doesn’t yet have a World Series ring, but he does have this special moment that he got to share with his dad on Wednesday.
