With the 2023 NFL season less than four months away, some people feel the Pittsburgh Steelers have the worst team in the AFC North.

After all, they have an underwhelming quarterback in Kenny Pickett, who was a rookie last season.

But when one takes a closer look, there is some potential within the Steelers, and much of it lies within their wide receiver corps, which is actually rather deep.

Headlining this group is Diontae Johnson, who had 882 yards in 2022 a year after posting 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns and being named to the Pro Bowl.

George Pickens, their other productive wideout last year, had 801 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie after he was a second-round pick of the Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft.

For this season, they brought in Allen Robinson II, a grizzled veteran who will be entering his 10th pro season this September.

He may not be what he was a few years ago, but he mustered 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games for the Los Angeles Rams last season.

As recently as 2020, Robinson put up 1,250 yards, and in 2014, which was just his second season, he amassed 1,400 yards and an NFL-high 14 touchdowns while earning a Pro Bowl nod.

Calvin Austin didn’t play last season as a rookie due to injury, but the 2022 fourth-round pick did well in his last two years at the University of Memphis, and the team sees potential in him.

Gunner Olszewski has been used mostly as a kick and punt returner, but he led the league in punt return yards in 2020 and was named to the All-Pro first-team.

Together, these studs are hoping to improve a Pittsburgh offense that was last in passing touchdowns in 2022.
