The Philadelphia Phillies are struggling to win games.
They are on a three-game losing streak and are having trouble getting clutch hits.
Coming into the season many thought the Phillies would have one of the best lineups in baseball.
But they are not showing that right now.
According to Todd Zolecki, the Phillies entered Tuesday’s game on an 0-for-28 skid with runners in scoring position.
But, thanks to a Bryson Stott RBI single in the fourth inning, the skid is finally over.
Phillies snap a 0-for-28 skid with RISP with Bryson Stott’s RBI single in the fourth inning.
It was the Phillies’ longest RISP slump since a 0-for-34 skid July 28-31, 2009.

This skid was the longest one since the 2009 season when the Phillies had an 0-for-34 stretch with RISP.
Yet in that same year, the Phillies made the World Series.
Failing to hit with runners in scoring position is a recipe for disaster.
That is a major reason why the Phils are on a losing streak.
Some of the big-named Phillies players have gotten off to a slow start this year.
Kyle Schwarber is hitting only .179 this year while Trea Turner is struggling at .258.
The Phillies need their highly-paid players to produce more if they are going to be a playoff team.
At this point in the season, the Phillies are 20-22.
That is good enough for third place in the NL East and six games behind the Atlanta Braves for first.
After making the World Series last year, the Phillies have a strong core in place.
They just need to play up to their standards.
It will be interesting to see if they can respond to this current losing streak by ripping off some wins.
