The MLB season is full of great showdowns between some of the league’s best players.

But, there are also moments between veteran players that are must-see TV.

Two of the oldest players in MLB are Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Rich Hill and Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera.

On Wednesday, Hill and Cabrera squared off in a battle of the old heads.

The moment could not have been any better as it turned into a foot race for first base between the two.

As shown by MLB on Twitter, Hill barely edged out Cabrera to record the out at first base.

Hill is 43 years old and Cabrera is 39, so this could very well be the last time they face each other.

Not many players can play that long in MLB.

So it is impressive to see both still starting in games.

One reason Hill is still pitching is that he was always a finesse pitcher.

He is what some refer to as a “crafty lefty,” as he does not throw hard but finds ways to keep hitters off balance.

For Cabrera, he is one of the greatest right-handed hitters of all time.

Cabrera has confirmed that the 2023 MLB season will be his last.

He is already a member of the 3,000-hit club and 500 home run club.

Also, he is a two-time MVP.

Most younger MLB fans only know a league with Cabrera in it.

But, he plans to enter the next chapter of his life after this season.
