The San Antonio Spurs are already salivating at the thought of having Victor Wembanyama anchoring the paint for the next decade or so.
Wembanyama is the consensus No. 1 pick and has been like that for over a year now.
However, for G League Ignite PG Scoot Henderson, the Spurs should choose him instead, and it should be a no-brainer, also.

Henderson recently stated that he’s looking forward to building a fan base in San Antonio, citing that, as a competitor, he believes he should be the first-overall pick.
Truth be told, Henderson would have a strong case to be the first guy off the board in most years, but that’s not the case this season.
Wembanyama is a once-in-a-lifetime, unicorn kind of player, and no GM in his right mind would ever pass on him if given the chance to get him.
Henderson is an elite athlete, strong finisher, and one of the best, most polished lead guard prospects we’ve seen in years.
He’s got the quick burst, strength, frame, and work ethic to be an all-time great at the next level, although his decision-making and three-point shooting could improve drastically.
He’s already gotten a glimpse of the NBA competition and lifestyle after dominating with the G League’s Ignite for the season, and his game will definitely translate to the pros.
But as great as he is, Wembanyama is just too unique, with scouts citing that he has the potential to be the greatest player in basketball history, and you never pass on a guy like that.
