The Los Angeles Lakers will head back home with a 0-2 series deficit.

However, LeBron James isn’t ready to call it quits, and he knows it takes four wins to move on to the next round:

“This is not the NCAA tournament. It’s the first team to four wins,” James said in he aftermath of the loss.

Truth be told, James has looked gassed and exhausted over the past couple of games, visually gasping for air and looking human for the first time in his career.

That’s why leaving Denver’s thin air and heading back home to Southern California should do wonders for his recovery ahead of the two most crucial games of the season.

The Lakers did a much better job of keeping the Nuggets off the offensive glass, and the game was quite close for the most part.

They were even up late before Jamal Murray went off and single-handedly brought his team back into the game, but the Lakers still had a chance to even things up late.

Execution down the stretch has been a major issue for Darvin Ham’s team in this series, and while the heights of Colorado might have something to do with that, it’s also a fact that their best player isn’t a teenager anymore.

Father Time is undefeated, and it feels like he’s finally catching up to LeBron.

James has still managed to make a huge impact and put up huge numbers throughout the postseason, but the Lakers will only go as far as Anthony Davis can take them, and he’s getting manhandled on both ends of the floor by Nikola Jokic right now.
