During his time with the Boston Celtics, Paul Pierce cemented himself as one of the greatest players in the franchise’s history and a potential first-ballot Hall of Famer when the time comes.
Pierce’s shining moment in the league was winning NBA Finals MVP by getting the best of Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals.
Although his performance was impressive and the title he won alongside Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen put him in select company, the most unforgettable moment of that Finals series was when he seemed to injure his knee and had to be taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.
The entire situation seemed strange as anyone taken to the locker room in a wheelchair is almost certainly done with an injury that you can’t quickly bounce back from, but he did and ran out of the tunnel to help lead the Celtics to victory over the Lakers.
Of course, the rumors started swirling that Pierce wasn’t injured and may have had an accident that needed a trip to the bathroom, but he continues to deny that.

First of all, there’s no way any player is running out of the tunnel to return to the game and do what he did with a knee injury that would require a wheelchair.
If that’s not fishy, it’s incredibly dramatic and completely unnecessary, especially under the bright lights of the Finals.
Pierce maintains his stance and doesn’t appear to have any plans to change it, but it’s still hard to believe he bounced back like that.
