On Friday, the Boston Red Sox made their way to Petco Park for a weekend matchup with the San Diego Padres.

Prior to the game, the Red Sox held court with a former star in shortstop Xander Bogaerts, who played the first 10 seasons of his career in Boston but left for San Diego in the offseason.

After the pregame festivities were over, Bogaerts got to share a nice moment with third baseman Rafael Devers.

Prior to the first pitch, the former Red Sox slugger reunited with Devers as the two delivered their team’s respective lineup cards to the umpiring crew.

Bogaerts may no longer be a member of the Red Sox, but he clearly still holds his former teammates in high regard.

And before the first pitch, he got to share a nice moment with Devers.

The two shook hands and hugged before delivering the lineup cards to the umpires.

Bogaerts reached the Major Leagues with the Red Sox in 2013 and helped guide the team to two World Series titles.

Devers came up with the Red Sox in 2017 and was teammates with Bogaerts through the 2022 season.

The two were teammates when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2018.

Bogaerts ultimately had a night to forget against his old team, as he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

The Red Sox won by a final score of 6-1.

But that didn’t take away from the moment Bogaerts got to share with his old teammate in Devers before the first pitch of the game.
