As controversial as he is, Draymond Green is one of the most knowledgeable players in the NBA right now.
The Golden State Warriors star has a respected voice around the league, especially when it comes to breaking down the game and making adjustments.
During a recent edition of his podcast, Green talked about the flagrant foul rules, giving his opinion on how the NBA views them.
“The D’Angelo Russell foul, I thought that was extremely soft. He goes up to block a shot. This is the playoffs. And then everybody says, ‘Oh man, the NBA is soft,’ and, as I told you before, I agree. But, we blame it on players… If that’s a flagrant foul, is that what we’re selling? Or like we need to go revisit these flagrant fouls? Which quite frankly, I’m a fan of. Let’s revisit these flagrant foul rules, because I can’t just agree that’s a flagrant foul…”

Draymond knows a thing or two about flagrant fouls, as he’s been punished for many of them during his career.
During the 2023 NBA Playoffs, he was suspended after stomping on Domantas Sabonis’ chest, which raised many eyebrows around the league.
Green has a history with these types of fouls, and just like fans, he’s seeing that the league is trying to protect players more than ever.
Of course, as a company, they have to protect their product, but there must be a limit to make sure fouls like D’Angelo Russell’s on Jamal Murray aren’t considered flagrant.
Many will disagree with this take, but this is something that’s been happening around the league for a while now.
They will always favor the show over anything that ruins it, but sometimes referees take it too far.
The Lakers played more physically in Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets, and the results were promising in the first half of the match.
After that, the intensity disappeared, the Nuggets made the adjustments and more importantly, Jamal Murray woke up.
They need to keep applying that pressure if they want to win Game 3, but referees will also need to do a good job to make sure the players are the ones deciding the outcome of the game.
