The Boston Celtics have been the most disappointing team in the Conference Finals.

They were the oddsmakers’ favorites to make it to the NBA Finals before the start of the playoffs, and now they’re down 0-3 against the No. 8 seed Miami Heat and look completely clueless.

A lot of that has had to do with Jayson Tatum’s inconsistency, which is why Skip Bayless took a big shot at him on social media.

Tatum had back-to-back 30+ games in the first two games of the series but then put up just 14 in a blowout loss in Florida.

Jaylen Brown has also struggled vastly, and some are questioning whether he’s just ready to call it quits so he can force his way out of the team in the offseason.

Brown has often been the Celtics’ most reliable player in the playoffs, especially down the stretch, but that simply hasn’t been the case thus far.

Needless to say, the Celtics will only go as far as their stellar duo can take them, even if they’re stacked with talent and depth at every position.

Of course, it’s also worth noting that Erik Spoelstra has coached circles around Joe Mazzulla, and it’s hard to do well if your coach doesn’t put you in a position to succeed.

But then again, there have been way too many instances where Tatum falls short of expectations, as we already know what he’s capable of as a basketball player, but his leadership and determination when the game or the season are on the line has left some to be desired.
