MLB’s City Connect uniforms have been one of the coolest initiatives in recent memory.

Fans love new uniforms, designs, colors, fonts, and logos: innovation and diversity are extremely important in the fan experience.

The Baltimore Orioles have recently released their City Connect uniforms.

These uniforms are made to pay tribute to each franchise’s city, its customs, neighborhoods and the stories behind them.

The Orioles presented an all-black kit with the word “Baltimore” on the chest.

According to ESPN’s Joon Lee, the block font is inspired by “the typeface of the Globe Collection and Press at Maryland Institute College of Art.”

The city of Baltimore is a place that celebrates its artistic heritage, which is why the Orioles used a colored mosaic design inspired by the city’s arts culture.

The uniform has been met with enthusiasm by fans and media, and players have discussed it a bit, too.

The presentation of the City Connect uniform comes at a time of joy for the Orioles franchise.

They returned to relevancy last year with an 83-79 record, and to contention this year: they have the second-best record in the American League at 31-16.

They look poised to make a run at the postseason this year.
