After missing the last several weeks because of a personal matter, Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is nearing a return to game action just in time for the start of the NBA playoffs.
He has participated in practice this week, and teammate Kevon Looney says he looks good.
“He’s been looking really good. Looks like himself. Looks like he hasn’t missed a step, like he’s been here the whole time. I’m excited to go out there and go to war with him on the court.”

After a regular season that was defined by inconsistency and enigmatic problems, the Warriors may be starting to get it together and perhaps even peak at the right time.
With 10 games left on their schedule, they had a dismal 36-36 record, but they won eight of those final 10 games to finish with a 44-38 record and the sixth seed in the Western Conference, which ensured they would not have to go through the play-in tournament.
It was the first time all year Golden State has been able to sustain any type of momentum or positive play, and even better, they looked to be clicking on all cylinders in their final regular season contest against the Portland Trail Blazers, as they won by a whopping 56 points and scored 157 points.
But the Warriors will not be able to do anything of note in the postseason without Wiggins.
Over the last couple of seasons, he has emerged as a prime-time two-way player who can score, hit 3-pointers, and lock up the opposition’s best wing player.
He was a starter in last season’s All-Star Game, and this season he averaged 17.1 points a game while shooting 39.6 percent from 3-point range.
As they prepare for their first-round matchup with the Sacramento Kings, the Warriors have to be considered a legitimate threat once again.
