It would not be an NBA offseason without some type of drama.

That is what LeBron James has brought the league in his postgame comments after his Los Angeles Lakers team was swept out of the playoffs.

James mentioned how he has a lot of things to think about.

Then a report came out from Chris Haynes stating that James will consider retirement this offseason.

James is 38 years old and just finished up his 20th NBA season.

Most players at that age would be considering retirement.

But, James is not like most players.

He is coming off a playoff game where he scored 40 points and did his best to avoid the sweep.

It still looks like the future Hall of Famer has plenty more to give to the game.

NBA analyst JJ Redick is not buying the fact that James is going to retire.

Instead, he sees this as a “calculated” move by the star.

Redick thinks this might be a move by James to try and get the Lakers to improve their roster.

Two players that the Lakers could have an interest in this offseason are Trae Young and Kyrie Irving.

Both are star players and something that could help take the burden off James.

But, adding one of those players would make it difficult for the Lakers to retain all of their role players.

The chances we do not see James in a Lakers uniform to start next season are slim to none.

Yet, this move might be what the Lakers front office needed to hear to push all the chips in once more.
