The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in for a major shake-up in 2023.
For the past three seasons, Tom Brady was their quarterback, taking them to the playoffs in each season.
The team’s quarterback situation now rests on the shoulders of Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask.
With that in mind, many analysts and fans have counted out the Buccaneers this season, believing they won’t have much success.
Mayfield recently countered this argument, saying, “I don’t really care what the people in Vegas are putting odds on it because it’s May,” per NFL.com.

Every major sportsbook believes the Buccaneers have the longest odds to win the NFC South this season.
Caesars Sportsbook gives them the worst odds, which currently sit at +800.
For context, the team that currently has the best odds is the New Orleans Saints, which currently hovers around +135.
Despite this early public negativity, Mayfield believes that the Buccaneers have what it takes to make it back to the postseason this year.
When discussing his teammates, Mayfield also indicated that “it’s a great group,” and later said it is a team that is “all about winning.”
The Buccaneers have a lot of veterans, both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Assuming that Mayfield is the starter, he’ll be able to throw to the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, two of the best receivers in the league.
On defense, they’re led by key veterans such as Devin White and Lavonte David, players that have plenty of playoff experience.
Just how high is the ceiling of this team, given their current quarterback situation?
