The New York Giants still have one big issue to deal with before the start of the season.
Saquon Barkley hasn’t signed a new contract, and some people believe he’s not even going to suit up for them in 2023.
Moreover, Giants HC Brian Daboll recently fueled speculation by refusing to discuss Barkley’s contract situation when asked about it by some members of the media.

The team has always been vocal about their desire to keep Saquon on the roster for years to come, yet he and his camp feel lowballed by their offer.
Barkley was one of the most steady contributors to their offense in that bounce-back year in 2022, and there was a time when he was one of the most disruptive offensive forces in the league.
However, he seems unable to stay healthy for a full season, which has obviously taken a massive toll on his market value, and it doesn’t feel like any other team would be willing to meet his asking price.
All things considered, both parties would be better off by just reaching some middle ground and working together, as no team values him more than the Giants, and they can’t afford not to have him in the backfield next season.
The Giants made a huge and shocking financial commitment to Daniel ones and look forward to taking another leap in Daboll’s second year in charge, so they need to sort this situation out before it becomes a major distraction at the start of the season.
