When NFL players sign their contracts, there are often bonuses and incentives that come with them.

One bonus that has become increasingly popular, is an offseason workout bonus.

In a recent tweet, Field Yates highlighted that several players have a bonus of $500 thousand and that Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals has a $1 million workout bonus.

Murray was signed to a five-year, $230 million contract by the Cardinals during the 2021 offseason.

This incentive was worked into the contract, which, after Yates pointed this out, was commented on by many across the league.

Several fans have wondered if this bonus includes time spent playing Call of Duty, which is seen below.

Murray is a noted video game player.

This is often cited as a point of contention by fans, as they believe that video games impact his ability to perform at an elite level on the field.

As this fan posts, the current Call of Duty event might be enough to keep Murray off the field.

These comments are likely in jest, but they do raise some initial concerns.

Other fans have called Murray’s work ethic into question, wondering why his workout bonus needs to be so high.

Regardless of why this is built into the contract, it appears that Murray is in line for a nice payday, provided that he attends the team’s programming.

The Cardinals could look significantly different in 2023, especially if DeAndre Hopkins is traded, leaving Murray without his top weapon.

Will they be able to turn their organization around, resulting in a better season record?
