On Sunday, the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies had no trouble defeating the Cincinnati Reds, who now sit at the bottom of the NL Central division.

Though Philadelphia is off to a bit of a slow start this year, they busted out for 14 runs at Great American Ballpark, with nine of them coming in the top of the first inning.

Second baseman Bryson Stott led things off for the defending NL champs on Sunday and hit a home run to give the Phillies an early lead.

But the home run meant a little something extra.

It helped Stott extend his hitting streak to 16 games to start the season, which ties a Phillies record.

Stott helped get the Phillies going on Sunday with his home run, while also extending his hit streak and etching his name in the history books.

He drove in two runs, scored one, and picked up three hits as the Phillies rolled over the Reds by a final score of 14-3.

The Phillies are still off to a bit of a rough start, as they sit at 6-10 and are six games behind the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.

They are also still in fourth place.

However, a win like Sunday’s could help get them back on track.

Stott certainly is on a hot streak right now and is tough to slow down at the plate.

Philadelphia took two out of three from the Reds, securing their series win with Sunday’s blowout.

The defending NL champions will now match up with the Chicago White Sox.
