The New York Jets will be pure entertainment before and during the 2023 NFL season once the team finally pulls off a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers to land superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In the meantime, the Jets will continue to make moves to improve the squad for what could be a title-contending 2023 campaign.

Although the team is solely focused on acquiring Rodgers and bringing in young talent in the 2023 NFL Draft, one of the team’s star players that emerged last season has decided to make a change.

Apparently, according to a tweet sent out on his Twitter account, Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson will wear No. 17 next season. He will then switch to No. 5 the following season.

Last season, the rookie wideout made quite the impression in New York despite not having any consistency at the quarterback position.

In 2023, no player stands to benefit more from the arrival of Rodgers than Wilson, who could be well on his way to becoming a household name in the NFL as a favorite target of the superstar gunslinger.

The Rodgers deal has yet to come to fruition, and there’s a chance it never does if the Packers and Jets can’t come to an agreement, but if it does happen, Wilson’s sophomore campaign will be interesting, to say the least.

During his rookie season, Wilson caught 83 passes for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns.

Those are some impressive numbers considering the shaky quarterback situation in New York, but one can only imagine how much those stats will improve with the four-time NFL MVP in the fold.
