The New York Yankees are playing solid baseball to start the season.

They sit tied for second place in the American League East division with the Toronto Blue Jays, four games back of first place and with a record of 10-6.

However, they have been dealing with the injury bug lately.

They began the regular season without three of their starting pitchers in Frankie Montas, Luis Severino, and Carlos Rodon.

Their list of stars on the injured list got a little bit longer on Monday when it was learned that Giancarlo Stanton would be out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Stanton injured his hamstring running to second base to leg out a double on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins and was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list.

On Monday, MLB Insider Mark Feinsand appeared on MLB Network to discuss the ramifications of Stanton’s injury.

Feinsand revealed that Stanton had suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain and that the likely timetable for his recovery is 4-6 weeks.

However, help could be on the way soon.

Oswald Peraza has taken Stanton’s spot on the roster for the time being, but Feinsand mentioned that both Josh Donaldson and Harrison Bader are nearing their rehab assignments, which means that Peraza may not be up for long and that the Yankees will have some reinforcements on the way.

MLB Network then flashed a graphic that showed all of Stanton’s injuries since joining the Yankees.

The veteran slugger has certainly dealt with more than his fair share, and will be nursing yet another injury.
