Draymond Green has earned a bit of a tough reputation in some NBA circles.

His vocal nature and how he always gets into heated altercations have made the referees have him on a rather shorter leash than the average NBA player.

Also, he’s been involved in several questionable incidents throughout the course of his career, so some fans think he’s a dirty player.

That was again on full display last night when he stomped on Domantas Sabonis’ chest.

The referees called him for a flagrant 2 foul and ejected him in the second half, with Sabonis clearly in pain.

So, when asked about the incident, Green explained that Sabonis actually grabbed his leg first — which he did — so he didn’t have anywhere to land his foot.

Green claims that he’s not exactly flexible, so he couldn’t stretch his leg any further.

More than that, Green said that the referees actually saw the whole thing and that it was the second time in as many games that someone grabbed his leg, yet they didn’t do anything.

To be fair, Sabonis did grab Green’s leg, and that was also quite a dangerous move by the Kings’ All-Star.

But, as much as Green may have had to step on him to avoid falling, he didn’t have to actually stomp on him.

Also, Green’s reputation precedes him, especially in the playoffs.

Now, whether the league will impose further discipline against him remains to be seen.
