The epic 13-game winning streak of the Tampa Bay Rays may be over now, but the team is still playing well and seemingly has command of the American League East division.
They are 3.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees and have put some distance between themselves and the other teams in the division.
And though the win streak is over, there are still plenty of other reasons to be optimistic about the Rays.
Heading into Monday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, they had hit a home run in each of their first 16 games, which is second behind the 2019 Seattle Mariners, who started the year with a home run in each of their first 20 games.

The streak ultimately continued on Monday night.
Though the Rays lost by a final score of 8-1, Josh Lowe went deep to provide the only offense for the team.
The streak now sits at 17 straight games.
Tampa Bay is 14-3 to start the regular season and owns the best record in all of baseball.
A big part of their early success is thanks to the power they have shown at the plate.
The winning streak is over, but the team is still firing on all cylinders as they continue to stay hot at the plate.
They’ll continue their series with the Reds on Tuesday night and will look to inch closer to the 2019 Mariners’ record of 20 straight games with a home run to start the season.
The Rays will need home runs in each of the next four games to break the record.
