The Houston Rockets were one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season, all things considered.
While no one expected them to be playoff contenders, the lack of improvement between seasons was somewhat worrisome.
Analysts and media members pointed out that the young players could be developing losing habits for playing in an iso-heavy offense, and it became evident that they didn’t respect Stephen Silas.
So, now that Silas is long gone and the team is considering all its options to find their new boss, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed some interesting names on their shortlist.
Per Woj, the Rockets were already considering hiring former Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel and former Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, with Nick Nurse now entering the race as well.
The Rockets are progressing toward a second-round of interviews, which are expected to include Ime Udoka, Frank Vogel and the introduction of Nick Nurse into the process, sources tell ESPN.

The Toronto Raptors let Nurse go earlier on Friday after five seasons in charge of the team, a somewhat odd decision considering the success he had found with the organization.
Now, he’ll position himself as a favorite for multiple head coaching positions, as he has made a name for himself for his developmental skills.
The Rockets have a multitude of young hoopers that could wind up being stars in this league, not to mention a potential top-three pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
There are also rumors of James Harden looking forward to a Rockets reunion if the Sixers fail to go the distance in the playoffs.
They need to be quite meticulous when choosing their next HC, so we wouldn’t expect them to rush to make a decision.
