The Denver Broncos are hoping to have a much more successful season in 2023.

Last year they entered with high expectations after trading for star quarterback Russell Wilson.

But, Wilson played poorly and coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired before even finishing his first year.

Now, the Broncos have raised the stakes heading into the 2023 season.

They acquired former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, and he has been tasked with fixing the offense.

Denver had one of the worst offenses in the NFL last season, and that is not something Payton has ever had.

He should be able to get the best out of Wilson, but the two need to have a good relationship.

It appears that Payton already feels comfortable joking with Wilson, as he did in his recent press conference.

According to Mat Smith, Payton mentioned how he hopes his team can “keep the golf carts upright.”

This was a dig at Wilson, who got into a golf cart accident earlier in the week.

Many fans thought this subtle joke by Payton was quite funny.

So far you can get the sense that Broncos fans are happy to have Payton as their new coach.

Payton has a long history of winning in New Orleans and that is the expectation in Denver.

Some people believe that Wilson might be washed.

Payton is out to prove that his quarterback can still play and lead the Broncos back to the playoffs.

Their relationship seems to be off to a positive start.
