The Minnesota Timberwolves had their first home game of the postseason on Friday night, facing off against the first-seed Denver Nuggets with hopes of securing a big win.

They weren’t able to pull it off and the Nuggets won, 120-111, and now hold a 3-0 lead in the opening round.

Obviously, coming back from a 3-0 deficit is a huge task and practically impossible, based on NBA history.

But Anthony Edwards of the T-Wolves still believes in his team.

“This series is not over. It’s the first to four, not to three. I promise you it ain’t over. Everyone’s counting us out. It ain’t over. I promise you,” Edwards said following the game, according to Jon Krawczynski, via NBACentral.

Of course, Edwards is going to be optimistic about turning things around but most fans and analysts don’t see how that’s possible at this point.

Minnesota put in a strong effort on Friday night, with multiple starts posting in double-digits.

Edwards himself was the one who led his team with 36 points, followed by Karl-Anthony Towns with 27 of his own.

But that simply wasn’t enough to overcome the Nuggets, especially Denver’s dynamic duo of Michael Porter Jr. and Nikola Jokic.

Bouncing back from 3-0 would be a huge accomplishment and would shock the entire NBA world.

That’s because no team has done that in the past.

Although some teams have come back to tie a series after being in such a deep hole, none have been able to overcome and win.

Edwards believes that it can be done but there is simply no evidence coming from his team to prove that it’s possible.

The next – and possibly final game – in this series will be held in Minnesota.

Will the T-Wolves start a historic resurgence?
