The Arizona Cardinals are a mess right now, with the team failing to live up to expectations during the 2022 NFL season, leading to potentially significant changes for the franchise moving forward.

The Cardinals were arguably one of the most disappointing teams in the league this past season, with many questions about what direction the franchise should take moving forward.

The team recently parted ways with head coach Kliff Kingsbury, saw future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt retire and is currently working on trading star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Although it was a forgettable season for the Cardinals and star quarterback Kyler Murray, the 25-year-old did have something to be happy about during this NFL offseason, with the University of Oklahoma unveiling a statue of him.

Although it has been a rocky road thus far for Murray on the NFL level, with some up-and-down seasons with the Cardinals, the talented quarterback’s time with Oklahoma was incredible as he became a household name around the country in 2018.

Murray won a Heisman Trophy after taking over for Baker Mayfield, who decided to make the jump to the professional and was taken No. 1 overall by the Cleveland Browns.

The versatile quarterback was a dual threat in 2018 as he was an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses to stop passing for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns while rushing for 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns.

It is no surprise why the school honored him with a statue and why the Cardinals chose to take a chance on him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2019.
