After going down 0-2 to the division rival Sacramento Kings, the Golden State Warriors were in a deep hole and had to play without star forward Draymond Green after he was suspended for Game 3 due to his on-court altercation with Domantas Sabonis.

Fortunately for the Warriors, the defending NBA champions were able to put it together in Game 3 without Green and get the win over the Kings at the Chase Center to make it a series.

On Sunday, Green returned to the lineup for head coach Steve Kerr and his coaching staff in Game 4 in San Francisco, but he suggested that he come off the bench due to how well the team played without in Game 3.

Although it was an all-out battle from start to finish in Game 4, Green’s suggestion seemed to pay off, with the Warriors tying the series at two games apiece.

In 31 minutes off the bench in Game 4, Green came three assists shy of a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven dimes.

Although Green’s shooting left something to be desired, as he struggled in that department, going 3-for-14 from the floor, he still made a considerable impact and helped the team get its second win of the series.

With four games in the books, this Bay Area series will shift back to Sacramento for Game 5 in what will almost certainly be another hard-fought battle between two teams that don’t plan on going home early in the postseason.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Warriors continue to move forward with Green coming off the bench rather than in the starting lineup and if the change pays off for the defending champions.
