The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers have finally inked a deal, and Aaron Rodgers is now a Jet.

This eased the minds of fans of both organizations, knowing that they can move on with their new quarterbacks.

After this deal was finalized, however, Robert Griffin III cited his concerns with the compensation on the Jets’ side.

Griffin said that the Jets got “absolutely fleeced on this trade.”

As he points out, the Packers move up two spots in the draft, and gain a 2nd round pick in this year’s draft as well.

Not to mention, the Packers receive a first-round pick in 2024 if Rodgers plays at least 65% of snaps in 2023.

Griffin believes that Rodgers is likely to play for one or two more years, limiting his potential impact on the Jets over the next five seasons.

Even if that is the case, is opening the Jets’ Super Bowl window worth the compensation they sent to the Packers?

Jets fans have been starving for a playoff berth, as they have a 12-year playoff drought.

Even if Rodgers’ shelf life is limited, he has brought immense excitement to an organization that has been in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.

Zach Wilson didn’t appear to be that person for them, and it seems that the team has moved on from him, two years after they selected him in the first round.

The Jets, in total, surrendered two draft picks for Rodgers and moved back into the first round of this year’s draft.

Will this decision pay off?
