It was quite a solid week for Max Muncy.

After a tough season in 2022, the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger has come out swinging in 2023 and is currently leading all of baseball in home runs.

The 32-year-old is hitting .254 with 11 home runs, 21 RBI, and a 1.129 OPS.

This past week, Muncy hit five home runs and drove in seven runs, including a big go-ahead home run against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.

That was enough for the veteran slugger to earn an incredible honor.

On Monday, it was announced that Muncy had earned Player of the Week honors in the National League.

On Twitter, Bob Nightengale of USA Today listed some of the slugger’s stats over the past week.

In addition to his five homers and seven RBI last week, Muncy has also homered 10 times in his last 13 games.

The Dodgers themselves haven’t been off to their best start.

They sit in second place in the NL West and are only a half-game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks, but they are only a game above the .500 mark and hold a record of 12-11.

Still, Muncy has enjoyed a solid start to the 2023 season and is performing quite well.

His impressive numbers from the previous week were enough to earn him an NL Player of the Week Award.

Muncy joined the Dodgers back in 2018 and was a key piece of their run to the World Series that season and in 2020, when they finally won their first World Series title since back in 1988.

The 32-year-old has a career average of .232 and a total of 155 home runs.
