Steven Krueger is just like Us! The Yellowjackets star carves out time for fitness, family and friends while working hard in Hollywood.
The Roswell, New Mexico alum, 33, begins his day by working out with one of his pals, so he’s not stuck exercising solo.
“I haven’t gone back to a gym since the [coronavirus] pandemic,” Krueger exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “This is way more fun and gets me energized.”
Come the afternoon, the Goosebumps actor steps in front of the camera for a photo shoot, which he calls “the few hours of the day when I dress up in clothes I can’t afford and do the silliest things imaginable.”
He quips: “Somehow it works, or so they tell me.”
Following a few more work activities, Krueger gives himself a break to relax and reset. “I grab an iced tea at my favorite coffee shop and FaceTime with my niece, Kensington, after she gets out of school,” the TV star tells Us.
Once he’s home for the evening, the Originals alum tells Us he slips into “cozy clothes” and grabs “a cup of sleepy tea and some dark chocolate.”
While Krueger spends a lot of time in Los Angeles, he began going back and forth between Canada when he landed the role of Coach Ben Scott on Yellowjackets.
“It really wasn’t bad. The worst part was, like, the darkness,” the Satanic actor told Los Angeles Confidential in March of the weather while shooting season 2 of the Showtime series. “It got dark at, like, 4 o’clock and then you wake up in the morning and the sun wouldn’t be up until 8:30.”
He noted that it was “40 degrees and raining constantly” in Vancouver during the shoot but revealed that he and his costars didn’t have to endure the winter temperatures — unlike their characters.
“We did spend some time back in the woods and in different locations when we were in the first season trekking through,” Krueger explained, confessing that the cast filmed a lot of scenes on a sound stage. “It’s absolutely beautiful. I think that the way the season was shot, it looks incredible on camera.”
Yellowjackets airs live on Showtime Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. — fans can also stream the episodes every Friday.
