Fans of the Phoenix Suns are hanging their heads low on Tuesday.
Monday night’s painful 97-87 defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets was a tough one.
The Nuggets now lead the series 2-0, and there are many people wondering if the Suns can turn things around.
Analyst Craig Carton doesn’t think the Suns will make the Finals, and he also made a stark prediction about Kevin Durant’s future.
“Kevin Durant is never going to win a title without Steph Curry,” Carton said on Tuesday morning’s episode of his show.
He continued:
“Even though Durant had a good game last night, I already hear all the excuses: ‘We didn’t have enough time playing together, we only had eight games in the regular season,’ blah, blah, blah, blah. It’s another excuse.”

Carton and his table of analysts agreed that they anticipated the Suns reaching the NBA Finals this year because of the monster trade that landed them Durant in February.
Phoenix definitely went on a strong run at the end of the regular season.
Additionally, they were able to easily move past the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.
However, that Clippers team was missing its two biggest stars, and everyone knew the Nuggets would be their first true challenge of the playoffs.
So far, the Suns are not rising to that challenge.
Durant’s legacy will definitely be impacted by what happens next in Phoenix.
The truth is that the team needs to win in a big way or else people will criticize and question his worth and postseason talents.
Durant was hoping to secure a championship ring without the help of Curry and the rest of the Golden State Warriors.
After Monday night, that doesn’t feel likely.
