The Kansas City Royals are not a team that is expected to be in the news much.

They are still rebuilding their roster and trying to be competitive in the future.

But one player who they could trade in the coming months is relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman.

The former New York Yankees closer seems to be back to his old ways.

He has always been known for his ability to throw the ball with plenty of velocity.

That has once again been the case this season.

According to Codify, Chapman has the 25 fastest in-zone pitches thrown by a left-hander this season.

Coming out of the Royals bullpen does not require many high-leverage situations.

That is why he seems like a prime trade candidate when the trade deadline comes around.

Chapman has thrown 18.2 innings this season.

He has 31 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.89.

Also, he has an elite strikeout per nine at 14.9.

After struggling last year with the Yankees, Chapman seems to have found himself again in Kansas City.

It will be interesting to see how much interest the lefty has as the trade deadline approaches.

Every season teams are looking to improve their bullpen and this year will be no different.

Chapman is 35 years old, and he most likely wants to be a part of a team that can win now.

The seven-time All-Star is capable of taking over a closer role.

He has not done that much with the Royals this year, but he made a living as a closer earlier in his career.

Keep an eye on how much interest he gets in the trade market over the next few months.
