The Atlanta Braves have been off to a red-hot start this season and have already built up a two-game lead over the New York Mets in the NL East.

They continued their hot start on Monday with a huge win over the San Diego Padres, which just so happens to be their seventh consecutive victory.

Atlanta is 13-4 and owns the best record in the National League.

On Monday, the got started on the right foot when Austin Riley hit a two-run home run to give them an early 2-0 lead.

It was Riley’s fourth of the season.

On Twitter, MLB posted a highlight video of Riley’s home run.

The Braves ended up winning the game by a final of 2-0, as no more runs were scored on either side.

But Riley’s blast is what made the difference and helped the Braves continue their recent surge.

The ball barely snuck over the left field wall, as it was just deep enough to give the Braves an early lead.

Riley is a player that is garnering a lot of attention lately.

In addition to his four home runs on the season, the 26-year-old is also hitting for a .317 average in 63 at-bats, has driven in 11 runs, and his posted a strong OPS of .948.

After Riley’s home run, left-hander Max Fried pitched admirably in his return from the injured list, throwing five scoreless innings and striking out four batters.

He also allowed just four hits against a very powerful Padres lineup and earned his first win of the season.

Fried and Riley led the way as the Braves remained hot.
