The Buffalo Bills are mostly known for their explosive offense, which is natural when you have a guy like Josh Allen taking shots down the field.

Former Offensive Coordinator Brian Daboll worked closely with Allen and developed him into the superstar gunslinger he is nowadays.

But with Daboll entering his second season as the New York Giants’ HC, Bill’s Coach Sean McDermott, is ready to put the emphasis on the other side of the field.

In a recent interview with the team’s official website, McDermott confirmed that he’s looking forward to calling the defensive plays next season.

McDermott added that his defensive expertise was actually one of the things why he got the HC job in Buffalo in the first place, so it only feels natural that he takes on those duties.

Former Defensive Coordinator Leslie Frazier walked away from the team at the end of the season, and the team never actually pursued a replacement.

Instead, it’ll be up to McDermott to be the main guy calling the shots when Allen, Stefon Diggs, and the rest of the offense are getting a breather.

The veteran coach admits that he has a “two-track mind” to be successful in this new dual role, but he’s looking forward to going back to his roots and working his magic on the defensive side of the gridiron as well.

The Bills will continue to be one of the marquee names in the AFC next season, so McDermott will have even more pressure on his shoulders in 2023.
