The Los Angeles Lakers may have lost way more than just a basketball game or a ticket to the NBA Finals.

Monday night’s loss might have been LeBron James’ final NBA game ever.

James said that he’s got a lot to contemplate about his future in the league, and while that could’ve all been because of the heat of the moment, there’s also a chance he meant it for real.

When asked about it, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst explained that one never knows when a player is actually done or not, citing that multiple guys have said they were going to retire after the final game of the season just to come back for at least another year.

Windhorst cited that others have retired for good when they’ve said the first time, so he cannot jump to conclusions.

Nonetheless, he also talked about LeBron’s big desire to play with his older son Bronny, stating that it could ‘trump everything’ and make him come back for an extra couple of years.

Just last season, James admitted that he wants to play with his son and hopes to be on the court once his time comes, and Bronny will be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft.

He’s still got one fully-guaranteed year left in his contract worth $47 million, as well as a player option worth $50 million.

But as many reasons as he may have to stay, sometimes enough is enough, and only he knows how his body feels after enduring yet another long season.
