The Boston Celtics are trying to make NBA history in the Eastern Conference Finals.
They fell into a miserable 0-3 hole against the Miami Heat just days ago and were written off as inevitable losers of the series.
But after scoring a vital win in Game 4, there is now hope among the fanbase that they could do something that no other NBA team has: come back from that sort of deficit and win it all.
Brian Windhorst doesn’t think that’s likely, but he can’t eliminate the chance of it happening.
Speaking on First Take, Windhorst noted all of the weird things at play in these “bizarro Conference Finals” and said that the Celtics might be the team to come back from such a huge disadvantage.

Windhorst noted that this Celtics team has a very strong record when it comes to winning elimination games on the road.
But they are also the same team who have made major blunders in this series and have completely lost their composure for entire quarters.
He also mentioned that Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has a 13-0 record when it comes to closeout games at home against all other teams in the league.
But he has an 0-2 closeout game record at home against the Celtics.
Both of these teams are supremely talented, and both of them have weak spots exploited by one another.
If it were any other team, Windhorst and everyone else would say that a comeback is impossible.
But there is something about this Celtics lineup matched against this Heat lineup that makes a comeback improbable but not impossible.
The anticipation for Game 5 in this series is very high.
If both teams reach Game 6, that anticipation will be through the roof.
