After sitting out this season, Carmelo Anthony decided to retire from the NBA on Monday.
He was one of the better scorers of the past 15-20 years, and at his best, he was a nightmare matchup for just about anyone.
The Atlanta Hawks decided to honor Anthony on social media, and Anthony appreciated it.

The joke is that in the summer of 2018, Anthony was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Atlanta Hawks after the Thunder failed to get it done with him, Russell Westbrook, and Paul George.
Just five days later, Atlanta waived Anthony; he never played a game for them.
Anthony played his first seven years and change for the Denver Nuggets, and within a few seasons of entering the NBA, he developed into a prime-time scorer while making them into a championship contender by the 2008-09 season.
But after they regressed, the Brooklyn native wanted to be traded to the New York Knicks, and he got his wish midway through the 2010-11 campaign.
After being waived by Atlanta, Anthony played 10 forgettable games with the Houston Rockets, and by this time, his game had greatly declined, and some thought his career was done.
But the Portland Trail Blazers gave him a chance early in the 2018-19 season, and he remade himself into a 3-point specialist off the bench.
His swan song came with the Los Angeles Lakers last season during their failed attempt to compete for a championship with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook.
Anthony will be a sure-fire Hall of Famer, and no one who saw him play will ever forget how much of a walking basket he was.
