We are going to hear a lot of rumors about the future of the Los Angeles Lakers in the weeks and months ahead.
Many people expect several players to be involved in trade speculation as summer approaches.
But will Anthony Davis be one of those players?
Colin Cowherd thinks so and he believes the Dallas Mavericks might attempt to acquire Davis in the offseason.
Speaking on his show, Cowherd said:
“Dallas would love AD. He solves all their issues. He gives them a second scorer. He’s not at all ball-dependent. Luka gives you the 70 games and the consistent energy. Anthony scores 23 without really setting up plays for them, he gives them a rim protector.
He added, “I heard at the trading deadline Dallas has their eyes on Anthony Davis.”

Cowherd claimed that everyone will hear talk about Davis possibly departing the Lakers for the Mavericks soon.
This all apparently revolves around the fact that LA and LeBron James are still allegedly keen on bringing Kyrie Irving to the team.
Perhaps the two teams could set up a swap that would exchange Irving for Davis?
At this point, this rumor should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
If the Lakers had suffered a very bad postseason, this could be more believable.
However, they actually had a strong playoff run, especially when you consider how their season started.
Why would they give away one of their most foundational players after such a startling turnaround?
Are the front office and James so intent on getting Irving that they’d commit to this?
This sort of deal would radically transform both teams and would surely anger and also excite parts of each fanbase.
But it’s far too soon to tell if this will ever be more than simply a rumor.
